Call Those Things Which Are Not, As Though They Were…
The key objective and purpose of this article is to equip you with some powerful tools and resources that will empower and enable you to remain steadfast, optimistic, and confident at all times, no matter what!
You might be wondering “…but what are these tools and resources she is talking about? Common on… we all have heard of these motivational words every now and again… don’t make such a fuss about this now – lets be real! Well, you may be right, as there is nothing really new about what I am going to share here with you…the only difference may just be how I share it and whether you apply it or not! Hence, the key question here is whether we are applying these in our lives or not?
Well, I will hereby move straight into the point without making your imagination drift any further from this article…The powerful tools and resources I will be exploring here with you are well entrenched in the power of positive affirmation, and must be explored, exploited, and maximized in order to be fully effective and beneficial. Furthermore, they must be fully incorporated into our daily routine / life and applied constantly, and as often as required—even while in the midst of challenging life situations and/or storms.
Of note, affirmation is simply the action or process of guaranteeing/ affirming something— Yes as simple as that…No magical formula! You must first and foremost become aware and conscious of the fact that “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit,” Proverbs 18:21, and hence use it wisely and to your complete advantage.
Consequently, by affirming, you are merely speaking and bringing life into every dead situation and condition in your life. You are bringing hope where there was hopelessness; love, where there was hatred; forgiveness, where there was unforgiveness; healing where there was infirmity; peace where there was strife; order, where there was confusion; joy, where there was sadness…and so on… In essence, you are using your words powerfully to create your new and ideal reality and experience through the power of positive affirmations.
Of note, science supports and endorses the power of positive affirmations. Affirmations, when consciously, deliberately, and repeatedly practiced, they have the potential to reinforce chemical pathways in the brain, and strengthen neural connections. Furthermore, Neuroscience has demonstrated that our thoughts are capable of changing the structure/ neuroplasticity and function of our brains. David J. Hellerstein, a Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at The Columbia University, had this to say “In brief, we have realized that ‘neuroplasticity,’ the ongoing remodelling of brain structure and function, occurs throughout life. It can be affected by life experiences, genes, biological agents, and by behaviour, as well as by thought patterns.”
Consequently, by practicing positive thought patterns (also known as affirmations), you actually create neuroplasticity in the area of the brain that processes what you are thinking about. For this to be effective, repetition of such thoughts is very crucial—as the process of repetition, not only causes an overflow of positive thoughts within your brain, but also results in the establishment of a habit and lifestyle, which eventually shapes and defines your actions and destiny. Furthermore, by constantly repeating such affirmations, whether or not you initially believe in them or not, you create an opportunity for such words and thoughts to be filtered through your conscious mind and stored into your subconscious mind.
“The abilities of this innate intelligence, subconscious mind, or spiritual nature are far greater than any pill, therapy, or treatment, and it is only waiting for our permission to willfully act. We are riding on the back of a giant, and we’re getting a free ride.” – Joe Dispenza
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1).
To give more power to your affirmation and make it become a tangible reality that you could see, touch, and feel, you must write it down, and visualise it as you speak. Furthermore, while writing down your affirmations, you must ensure they are written in the present tense, as though they are a current reality…. and call those things which are not, as though they were…
